I’ve been trying to cut back on my spending on clothes lately, since I’m running out of creative solutions for storing them. I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job so far, in that I’ve kept a Forever 21 gift card I got for Christmas unused until today. Since I have a trip to Florida coming up, I thought I would browse around for some summer-type clothes. This was a big mistake! All I bought was some jewelry, a nice heavy sweater, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle leggings. Aside from the jewelry, neither of these items are good for the warm Florida climate. I feel like a kid that was sent to the store for milk, and brought back a package of Milk Duds.
Since I swore-off clothes shopping the past few months, I’m not in the mood to shop. I sent myself into a panic thinking that since I didn’t like anything, I must be getting to old to shop there! It seems like most of the summer items are crop tops and high-waist shorts. Both of which I wouldn’t wear in a million years. Maybe I’d consider owning one crop top, but certainly not for riding roller coasters at Disney. Just to test my theory of not being in the mood to shop, I tried other stores that I normally go to. I wasn’t interested in anything there either. What a relief (sort of)!
But now I have nothing “new” to wear on my trip. I decided there is a goal here somewhere. For once, I’m going on a trip without getting anything new. I should manage just fine considering the scary amount of shorts I own alone. Wish me luck on slowly becoming an anti-shopaholic.
