SUMMAH TIME!

Oh man, I can’t believe it’s the end of July. Why does summer go by too fast? Andy and I had a very fun and busy weekend. I’m sad that it’s Sunday night already. That shit should be illegal! My dad started a garden in the backyard and our city garden is looking like a jungle! My neighbor is also growing his own veggies in the back too. He made us some zucchini bread from what he picked in the garden. I grabbed the big zucchini that was growing so I can use my moms recipe for fried zucchini.

Aside from some swimming on Saturday, we went to our friends backyard birthday party in Dorchester. It was a really nice party that was catered! I guess a perk of getting old is that your friends can afford to have catered BBQ’s. We were unaware of the bartender and catering crew, so we brought our own beer. I was having trouble picking something at the liquor store, so I asked the guy for “something fruity” and he pointed me to the Road Jam by Two Roads Brewing. He said it’s new to our area, so I was willing to give it a try! Its made with red and black raspberries and a touch of lemongrass. I really like the beer! I will definitely pick up another pack next time I go out.

We were supposed to go to our friends show after the party, but we were having too much fun and stayed late. We roasted GIANT marshmallows and sat by the fire. We also used their trampoline! But I spent a good portion of the party in the hammock too, and it made me realize how much I need a hammock. haha!

Today I went to visit my parents and got my mom’s fried zucchini recipe. Sooo good! I can’t believe how big the zucchini from our garden is, we’ll be eating the leftovers for a while.
