I was curious to see if I could manage the daily pedometer goal of 10,000 steps a day. I have no idea where this standard came from, but it seems to be a thing now. I always heard you should walk at least one mile per day, but now it seems it went to five miles. Either way, it made me realize that I don’t walk as much as I should. I’ll blame in on the fact I have a desk job. I already have a pedometer built into my phone, but I don’t carry my phone everywhere I go so it wasn’t giving me a complete picture. A little over a month ago for my birthday, I got a Samsung Gear smart watch. This watch has a lot of fitness tracking features (among other things like Pac Man!).
I’ve been using the watch as my pedometer and it syncs the data with my phone. So over the last 30 days I’ve been walking a minimum of 10,000 steps a day, which equals to around five miles. Technically I haven’t hit my goal because I didn’t do 10,000 steps today as of yet. But it will definitely get done by this evening! This goal is a bit of a pain though. Once I realized I wasn’t doing enough walking, I’ve been doing laps around the office building during break times. I would also like to thank my stepper. That was a really good investment, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to reach my goals. Where do I go from here? I’m not sure. But I’m going to keep my 10k a day streak going!
