DinnerAndy made the last Hello Fresh delivery this week [see end of post for HelloFresh details].  Anyway, he made Ropa Vieja over Saffron Yellow Rice, and it was really good! I don’t have any tips or tricks on this one, as the only thing I did was eat it. haha! But I think I did a pretty good job of eating and enjoying a meal I didn’t have to cook. Trvia222

I guess since I don’t have much else to say about dinner, we can talk about how we won trivia last night. This time it was also by a technicality. We got second place, but the first place team had more than six people. So rules state that we win! I think we might be looking for a new trivia place soon though. It seems the pub we go to has secretly gone under new management. We noticed last week the waitstaff completely changed and they no longer offered 1/2 price burgers and the food wasn’t as good. No big deal, except this week they brought out a new menu. At first we didn’t like the new menu because the prices went up. But we all agree the food was actually really good! But then when we won trivia, nobody seemed to realize that first place is supposed to get $25 off the bill.

So when we told the waitress we got first place, the manager came to our table a few minutes later and gave us some Miller Lite buckets, old 2014 Red Sox schedules, pens, and Miller Lite magnets. Since the prize is technically at the discretion of the restaurant, we courteously accepted our strange prizes. But I guess Brian wasn’t having it, especially since nobody said they weren’t giving out the same prizes anymore. So he complained to the manager and we got our $25 off the bill. This really didn’t amount to much, since there were five of us, but I guess it was the principle of the matter.

HelloFresh is a dinner box service. Each week they create new recipes to pick from and they send the recipes and ingredients right to your door. So you can cook your own meals without having to make a trip to the grocery store. You can skip weeks if you like too! I find the recipes are really easy to follow, but definitely involve some prep time. But it’s great way to get more comfortable in the kitchen and get cooking! If you’re interested in checking them out, use my referral code below to get $20 off your first order. Don’t worry, they have options for vegetarians as well!

I purchased the HelloFresh dinner kit on my own. All opinions are my own. To help me get referral points, please use my code! Save 20$ on your first order with my code QFJ5CE at
