For some reason, there have been a lot of parties at work this month. Between birthdays, and retirements, I’ve grown accustomed to afternoon cake. I’m not complaining, especially when we get the nice bakery cakes that aren’t from grocery stores. Not that there is anything wrong with grocery store cake, by any means. Cake is cake, so I will eat it.
Basically my life has morphed into the “Frogger” episode of Seinfeld. Which is when Elaine eats cake every afternoon at work. Her office is cake-crazy, having cakes everyday for people that were out sick, having a birthday, having a bad day…etc. Then Elaine puts the kibosh on those shenanigans. But then she is left with a cake void, where she then wanders into Peterman’s office and eats a valuable slice of 60 year-old wedding cake worth $300k.
Today we’ll be enjoying some Konditor Meister cake for my co-workers birthday, it’s fresh and hasn’t been sitting in an English cellar for over 60 years. It’s a surprise and I can’t wait until the afternoon to dig in!
