I just realized I haven’t done a beauty review in FOREVER. So I thought I’d select one of my recent Sephora hauls to discuss. I already bought some Fenty Beauty pieces before, so I knew I liked the quality (I’m kinda fighting with the highlighters, but we’re working things out). So I thought I’d check out the limited edition holiday 2017 collection. I’m so glad I did!
I tend to panic-purchase when things are “limited edition” and “limited quantity.” So it’s no surprise I opted to try a few things from the collection. I had to get the Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette ($59). I haven’t fully played around with it, but using a “glitter glue” eyeshadow primer is recommended. I personally use the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue. I believe ELF and NYX make a more affordable version, but I haven’t tried them. I really hate spending more than $40-$50 on an eyeshadow palette, but it got good reviews. The colors are so pretty in person, the pictures from my phone do this zero justice. They are so much more vibrant in person! I will post pictures of an eye look when I have a chance, I will probably use it for Halloween.
In addition to the eyeshadow, I picked up all three colors of the 2-in-1 Glitter Release eyeliner. I thought the “Nepturnt” and “Alien Bae” colors looked very similar when I first swatched them. But when they are dry, you rub them to reveal the glitter. Once I did that, you can see the colors are different. Not sure I will use “Later, Crater” as an eyeliner, as I don’t like using light colors as eyeliner. But it is so pretty, I will try it out as an eyeshadow on the inner corners.
In addition to a Halloween party, I got magical unicorn hair over the weekend. I gave my hair stylist 6 months notice that I wanted to do this. She has never done rainbow hair before, so she researched it before I hit the chair. It was a great success. I love it! Who doesn’t want to look like a unicorn?
My stylist used Joico Intensity hair color for the job.
I just noticed I haven’t reviewed anything in a while. Oops! Well we can fix that. I got a bunch of things from Sephora over the last few months. So I’ll talk about a few of them right now, and save some for later. I started using the Farsali “Rose Gold Elixir” and it’s my favorite thing ever right now. The consistency is more of an oil. I generally use it at night and even put a tiny bit on my lips. I don’t actually know if you’re supposed to apply to lips, but I do. Let me tell you, it works miracles! I only use it once a day, so hopefully I won’t die if I continue to use it on my lips. It also does wonders for my skin. My skin feels plump, smooth, and moisturized in the morning. Bonus, there are tiny 24k gold flecks in the oil and you can use it as a makeup primer. Makes me feel so glam! Which reminds me, I need to review the Peter Thomas Roth “24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Prism Cream” at some point. I’ve been using that in the morning on top of my moisturizer. I think my goal in life is to look as youthful as C3PO? haha!
Next up is the Belif “Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream.” I always confuse Belief with Philosophy, they have similar packaging. I’ve only used this cream a few times, so I can’t say how well it works long-term. I’m waiting to use up my current eye cream before switching. But the consistency isn’t very creamy at all. It’s almost like a gel. So it’s not watery-looking, but a bit heavy. I don’t mind the texture, I actually don’t need a lot so I feel like it will help people use less product. It’s also a bit pricey, so it’s good that you don’t need to use a lot. I did find it moisturizes really well. I only have some fine lines and wrinkles, which are mostly caused from squinting a lot. Oops! I didn’t notice if it helped or not, but I generally only notice the lines when I apply powder makeup, or use a heavy concealer. So I think the heavy consistency will help makeup not settle into lines around my eyes.
I just got the Ciate “Dewy Stix.” I have an addiction to highlighters, so I had to try this. It’s not glittery like a typical highlighter, it’s more of a subtle shimmer. It is supposed to make your skin more dewy. It does that pretty well. It’s good for times when you want a subtle glow, and not look like a show pony. You can also use it to enhance your highlighter. The product can be used under any powder highlighter, which is cool. I haven’t tested this part yet, but I’ll try to report back when I do.
I always said when I get married, I wouldn’t do a veil. I just find them to be an expensive piece of tulle I could hack together myself with a $3.99 trip to a craft store. But I guess it depends on the dress too. A lot of the wedding dresses I tried on and liked, didn’t look good with a veil. But the dress I ended up with, does. So here I am, spending a lot of money on a veil, like I said I would never do.
I guess I can justify the purchase because my dress was a real bargain. Also, it’s being handmade from a small business. So at least I can say I’m supporting a small business. Also, my veil is freaking awesome. The seller sent me pictures this morning, it will be shipped out soon. I can’t wait! It will really fit the wedding theme well. Also, I have an exciting appointment next week, that I’ll talk about later with a famous bling queen. She is going to make a belt for my dress that will outta this world. I just wish these were things I could wear again, just feels like a waste. But I guess that is what weddings are, a money pit. Albeit, a fun one at least.
Hey guys! I was selected by Brandbacker and the lovely people over at Valentia to review the Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer. I’m so happy I was selected to try it, because I really love this face cream. I was in the market for a new cream, as the one I was currently using proved to be far too heavy for my oily skin. This product is very lightweight, and absorbs quickly. It also leaves my skin with a nice glow, and it doesn’t make my face look greasy by the end of the day. The cream also doesn’t have any strong fragrance and you don’t need to use a lot. Overall, I’m very impressed with this product.

Super random, but I’ve been on an Eminem kick this week. Thankfully Amazon Prime will indulge me, and I downloaded some albums for the FREE! So now I resemble Michael Bolton in Office Space, jammin to my tunes.
I’m sure it’s quite the sight. Anyway, I’m currently getting a pedicure. I’m trying out MiniLuxe, it’s a salon chain. The pedicures are a bit pricey, but I’m hoping it’s worth it. I hate doing my own pedicure, it usually turns out awful. I can handle painting my finger nails just fine. It’s basically the only thing my left hand is useful for, painting my right hand. Haha!
Anyway, another busy weekend coming up. I’m meeting up with Andy at his work for a party. We have tickets to a show, and we’re going to the beach. I can’t wait, should be good weather.
