So to make an update on my post about the new glasses I bought in May, the company did let me exchange them for a new pair! I made sure to pick out a pair from the site that didn’t have metal along the temple tip. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but they are blue. I really like them! They sent me a return label for the old pair and I sent them back this week. Phew, now I can wear my new glasses.
It’s now Thursday and I’m starting to feel more normal. It’s pretty sad that it took me 4 days to recover from my bachelorette weekend. But I guess that means I had a really good time! My issue was more related to lack of sleep. I went to bed kinda late and it took me a couple hours to fall asleep each night. I tried (and failed) to go to bed a little earlier this week to re-coup. But at least I’m starting to feel human again.
This weekend will be the same issue, I don’t have time to sleep. I have relatives visiting from Michigan. Saturday I have an early morning appointment with the florist for the wedding. in the afternoon I have my hair and makeup trials. After that, my friends have a night in the town planned.
On Sunday, I am getting up early again for my friends bachelorette party at a spa and pool. I can’t stay the whole time, because I have dinner plans with the visiting relatives. The following weekend will be busy with Comic Con. I’ll sleep when I’m dead, I suppose!
I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV. Never mind, I don’t even do that. Anyway, for the past couple of months, I’ve been extremely tired. I switched up my diet, because I definitely wasn’t eating enough healthy foods. I am also on week 4 or 5 of this new exercise program I started. But still, it didn’t help. I’m sure it doesn’t help that I haven’t been able to get as much sleep as I would like. I tried to go to bed earlier, when I could. That didn’t seem to shake me out of the tired-funk.
So now I’m getting a little annoyed at this nonsense. This weekend wasn’t quite as jam-packed as it usually is, so I was able to sleep in Saturday and Sunday. It was a Christmas miracle that I didn’t have to get up early to do some kind of bullshit activity. Let me tell you, it was glorious! It’s Monday and I don’t feel like Zombie Flanders, so I’m a happy camper. I still had time to have fun this weekend, and do some painting at my condo. So I wasn’t a complete waste of sleepy space! I need to do this “sleeping in” thing more often.

I had a satisfactory weekend. On Saturday, I stayed over my friends place so we could go to the Goblin Ball. It was a pretty cool event, we went with a bunch of friends. It was held in an armory museum that looks like a castle inside. Very appropriate. I got this really cool galaxy dress for the occasion. It sheds glitter everywhere though, and I don’t know when I’d wear it again. But it was worth it. I ordered a headpiece online, and I was nervous I wouldn’t get it on time. The snow last week didn’t help. But it got delivered at noon on Saturday. I plan to use the headpiece again, so it was a worthwhile investment.
Everyone did a fab job with their costumes. One of our friends won a costume contest. I’m sad we missed it, but it happened while we were in line to pick up our pictures. I think next time I’ll skip the pictures, we wasted valuable dance time!
It was a really fun event. I’d go again next year, if it’s an annual thing. I just hope they move it to the spring next time. Getting dressed up in gown with a long train is not ideal in the winter. I’m already thinking of ideas for next time, haha.
It snowed again yesterday into today. I ended up having to shovel this afternoon. I managed to shave 30 minutes off my Olympic speed shoveling record. But man, did I work up more of a sweat! At least I’m feeling better, I was sick earlier today. No fun!

I’m taking a break from being lazy and blogging. Last week, I celebrated Festivus with some friends. Andy and I woke up early and went to Providence. We visited his friends tattoo parlor, so he could finish his ink. I got a consult as well. The area is really cute, and we had lunch after.
That night we started off with dinner at Bar Louie. Jamie and I exchanged our Christmas gifts. I got some nice perfume and a lipstick palette! Thanks, Jamie! I got a Festivus sangria to celebrate the occasion. After dinner, we meet up with my friend during her impromptu high school reunion. It was a lot of fun. The bar played good music and we took up most of the bar!

Thanksgiving break is over and it was too darn short! I went out for drinks on Thanksgiving Eve with some friends. I had a good time, I enjoyed some delicious cheesy artichoke dip, beers, and vodka sodas.
Turkey day was a busy one. We had dinner with Andy’s family, and dessert with my family. we brought home tons of leftovers, my brother made a 28lbs turkey. I made a crumb cake and it came out pretty good!
I went out for drinks again with friends on Friday. Andy found a hat in the bathroom and insisted on wearing it. TBD if we’ll get lice. YUCK! I told him to get rid of that damn thing, and tossed it behind some bar stools, haha.
We also went to the dine-in movie theater. I ate fish and chips, and washed it down with a giant bucket of popcorn. Oh yes, we saw Bad Santa 2. it was pretty funny, and the kid reminded me of Elf. haha!
Now it’s back to work. Not looking for wars to it, but must be done. Hope everyone had a good holiday.

Sorry guys, I’ve been preoccupied and haven’t had a chance to keep up with my goal of blogging at least 3-5x a week. Anyway, I had a busy weekend. I went to a communion party for my cousin on Saturday. Then I went out to dinner with Monique. We went to this small diner place that serves booze and really good food. I will have to go back another time with Andy.
On Sunday, we went to my nieces communion. Afterwards we had lunch at my brothers place for Mother’s Day. I can’t believe how big my brothers puppy got, he is almost has big as Zorro! Anyway, my niece looked so cute in her dress! Her party is on Saturday, so I’m not out of the Communion party circuit yet. Then after that, we start with the graduation parties. OMG, it never ends, does it?!
It turns out, I’m getting a cold. I thought my sore throat was from allergies, but allergy meds didn’t do a damn thing for me. Come to think of it, cold meds aren’t exactly doing a ton to help me either. Anyway, I’ve been popping cold meds and Echinacea like a fiend to ward this thing off. It seems to be working, my sore throat is gone. But I’m still left with congestion that is inhibiting my sense of smell. But I am determined to be cured by Saturday. Not only for my nieces communion party, but we are going to Michael Jordan’s Steak House for Andy’s birthday. I want to taste this steak I’m paying good money for, damn it! Wish me luck!

I had another busy weekend! We started things off with some drinks at The Drop with some friends. It was a casual/impromptu celebration of Andy and I getting engaged. So it was the perfect chance to break in the “Feyoncé” shirt, haha. It was a fun night, glad we were all able to catch up. Except on the way back to the car, I bruised my leg on a branch that was sticking out from a shrubbery. Stupid shrubberies!
On Saturday, we finally made it down to see Andy’s parents. They haven’t seen my ring yet. Then we met up with some friends that were in the area for Texas Roadhouse. This was my second time there, I just love their rolls and homemade cinnamon butter. The food and complimentary peanuts did not disappoint! I feel bad for anyone with peanut allergies, they wouldn’t be able to enjoy this place. There is a huge sign at the entrance warning people with nut allergies.
Then on Sunday, we had a family dinner at Capital Grille. This isn’t my whole family, most of them couldn’t make it. But that didn’t stop the rest of us from celebrating some family birthdays, and delicious steak. The food did not disappoint! I’ve become quite the “fancy steakhouse” connoisseur. Capital Grille is my 3rd favorite steak place. Andy and I are excited to try Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse for his birthday in a few weeks. All in all, a very successful weekend. I’m still tired from the food coma!
