We got randomly invited to attend a Celtics game in a suite. The only drawback, I couldn’t go to my friends birthday paint night. I wanted to show up for a little bit, but I guess they open up the suite area early and they wanted us to arrive together. Andy was none too pleased that he couldn’t attend, as he is a much bigger Celtic’s fan than I’ll ever be. But it was people from work, so I could not get a plus one.
I haven’t gone to a suite in the Garden before, only the Red Sox. It was pretty similar experience. Each one has a private bathroom, free (to us) food (even sushi!), and booze. There is also seating in the front to watch the game, and some TV’s as well. Although, I don’t know if anyone actually watches the TV’s. Pretty awesome experience!
I stuffed myself with food and drinks while watching the game. A couple of us did end up leaving a little early, since it was a weeknight. I guess we probably should have stayed till the bitter end (and paid a ton in Uber surge fees, and sit in traffic on the pike for over an hour), since they ended up winning at the last second. Also, Andy was annoyed to see that I left before the game ended. I guess I’m not that good of a sports fan, hahaha!!
The weekend was solid. I had to move my Friday night plans, due to do a hurricane-like storm that they keep using overly exaggerated weather terms like “bomb cyclone” to describe. Don’t even get me started on that, I’m sure I could write a series of posts on how that term really gets under my skin. I mean, the storm did a lot of damage to the coast, as it coincided with the high tides. But still, let’s stop making up crazy weather terms. Don’t go chasin’ bomb cyclones, just call them storms or hurricanes like we’re supposed to. MOVING ON, Andy and I had a very belated Valentine’s Day steak dinner at Abe & Louie’s in Boston. We’re not Valentine’s Day people, but any excuse for a steak dinner, we’re on board. So we ventured there on Saturday night. I got the surf & turf with a filet mignon topped with crab. It was delicious! Afterwards, we went out for some more drinks. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we got our taxes done and got screwed because we’re married. Fun! We should get our marriage annulled for the tax break. Also, Andy’s car died in the parking lot at the tax place. So we had to get it towed. The steak was a real saving grace for us. Praise Jebus for steak!
On Sunday, we went to see Black Panther. It was really good! But we were stuck behind some family that thought it would be a grand idea to take all 14 toddlers to a PG-13 movie. Don’t worry folks, there is a special place in hell reserved for these kind of people that don’t understand how toddlers work and think they will sit thru a 135 minute movie meant for adults. There is also a special place in hell for the old man that decided he needed to loudly narrate the whole fucking movie to the theater as it was happening.
Oh yeah, I injured my toe a few months back. (If you get grossed out easily, you best stop here!) Not entirely sure how I injured it. But I think it had to do with wearing these very cute, but extremely uncomfortable shoes to Boston Comic Con over the summer. I got a blister on the middle toe of my left foot. I don’t think it ever fully went away, until it recently popped. I guess the fluid went under my nail. I thought the stain on the nail would just grow out after a while. Not so much. My nail FELL OFF since a new nail is growing back. I’ve never had this happen before and I’m thoroughly freaked out/grossed out. My question is, why couldn’t my pinky toe be sacrificed to the nail gods instead?! That I could deal with a bit better.
It doesn’t look as bad as I would envision something like this looking, but it sucks. It doesn’t hurt or anything, which is a plus. But it’s just very frustrating that it’s going to take over a year to grow back. I have my honeymoon coming up. So I’ll have to wear a band-aid over it. I also can’t take nail vitamins, as biotin breaks out my skin. So I’ve been using keratin oil on it twice a day, hoping it will help it grow. I also have been keeping it covered up just in case. Not sure what else to do at this point. Does Lee make press on nails for your feet? hahaha

I came back on Sunday from a fun weekend in New Hampshire. It was an adventure! My friend Erin and I even stopped by an outlet mall on the way up. We met up with her cousin for dinner, the food at Gordi’s restaurant was good! I (of course) got scallops. After dinner, her cousin took us to the Ice Castles on his day off. It was nice of him to let us in for free and basically be a tour guide. He explained how they created the ice castle. Very cool stuff (literally).
When we first got there, everyone was watching the fire show. We were too far back to see anything, so we used this as a chance to go down the ice slides. The line wasn’t bad at the time. It was so much fun, I even made a video! We wandered around for a bit and took tons of pictures. We made our way back to the area the performers were going to be. We got there nice and early to get a front spot. I was able to get some really good pictures and video of the show. I can’t wait to go back next year, the company bought a huge lot of land in a neighboring town and will move the operation next year. They will have much more space.
I am no stranger to the pizza establishment that is Mystic Pizza in Mystic Connecticut. I usually go there about once a year (or so), as I love the area. Plus it is pretty close to a couple of casinos. A couple of weeks ago, my mother-in-law brought up Mystic Pizza in a conversation. I told her about the actual pizza place in Mystic and how good the food is. Later that week, someone at work randomly brought up Mystic Pizza and the neighboring aquarium, unprompted by me.
I went to trivia night after a friends birthday dinner. Of course one of the final round questions worth 10 whole points was about the movie, Mystic Pizza. Needless to say we got that question right! Also, one of my friends on IG went there over the weekend and took loads of pictures. I think the universe is telling me I’m long overdue for a trip there. Don’t worry, universe I have listened! I have since planned a trip in May.
I was very much looking forward to the long weekend! On Saturday night, Jamie and I decided to check out the “igloos” on top of the Envoy hotel in the seaport area of Boston. It was a lovely lady date! We had to wait in line for an hour to gain access. It actually went by pretty fast, oddly. Once we got there, the space only has 6 igloos, 4 of which were reserved for private parties. Thankfully, we managed to snag one with some other people. The ones that are open, are a free-for-all. You share them with random people. I didn’t mind, we made new friends. Each igloo is heated and has colored lights on the inside. You should definitely dress warm if you opt to go.
After we enjoyed our drinks, we were starving. They don’t serve food on the roof. So we made our way down to the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent, so I would recommend the Outlook Kitchen & Bar. After dinner, we opted to check out the Scorpion Bar for dessert. I guess it’s new, I’ve only seen this restaurant inside the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. We ordered the churros, not realizing they would give you A TON! We were thinking we’d get one giant churro of each flavor. WRONG! We got 5 pieces of each kind, they were quite sizable. We split them up and took home what we didn’t finish.
We finished the night at Yotel. Apparently they offer the tallest rooftop bar in Boston. They have an Olympics theme set up, which we got behind! Jamie and I took pics on the podium, I’m sure we looked like huge weirdos.
On Sunday night, I was back in the Seaport area again. This time I was with Andy and his brother to check out the live podcast of Small Town Murder. It was a good podcast! I need to catch up on their station though, I’m very behind. All in all, a fun weekend!

I’m not happy it’s Monday, but I’m thinking about the fact it will be a long weekend coming up. So I can’t complain. On Friday night, I went to a Pajama/Mardi Gras party at a bar with some co-workers and a couple of friends. I dressed as Left Shark. The outfit was quite comfortable, I will definitely wear it again. The shark hoodie went well with the shark leggings I had on hand.
To get into the spirit, even the bands that played were dressed to impress, with slippers and robes. There was also a face painter, palm reader, plenty of Mardi Gras beads, and masks for all. It was a fun night! The palm reader said I was very good with money. I tried not to LOL, as I’m terrible with money.
On Saturday, we went out for a friends birthday party. It was at a new location for Flat Bread Pizza. It was a long wait for bowling, but we made it! I filled the time in by eating pizza, and drinking White Russians and some type of lemonade with blueberry moonshine in it. Fun times! I actually didn’t do that terrible with bowling. I somehow won the first string. Don’t ask me how, as I wasn’t able to replicate my victory on the second string. Oh well! A fun time was had, indeed.

Hello Wednesday! I am currently blogging while Andy is driving us to Brookline for dinner. I am also going to pick up my dinosaur and shark from last week’s paint night! Anyway, over the weekend I got ambitious and made a potato bacon torte for my friend Ginny’s potato party.
At first I was going to be lazy and just bring some chips and vodka. But my coworker offered up her tasty recipe. So I trudged to the grocery store on Friday night, and began making the torte on Saturday afternoon. I’m glad it turned out good, I was worried. THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD! I didn’t have a chance to try everything. I made the huge mistake of eating dinner beforehand, I wasn’t mentally prepared for the sheer quantity of food. After the party we went to Harry’s where I drank White Russians and relaxed with friends.
