I came back on Sunday from a fun weekend in New Hampshire. It was an adventure! My friend Erin and I even stopped by an outlet mall on the way up. We met up with her cousin for dinner, the food at Gordi’s restaurant was good! I (of course) got scallops. After dinner, her cousin took us to the Ice Castles on his day off. It was nice of him to let us in for free and basically be a tour guide. He explained how they created the ice castle. Very cool stuff (literally).
When we first got there, everyone was watching the fire show. We were too far back to see anything, so we used this as a chance to go down the ice slides. The line wasn’t bad at the time. It was so much fun, I even made a video! We wandered around for a bit and took tons of pictures. We made our way back to the area the performers were going to be. We got there nice and early to get a front spot. I was able to get some really good pictures and video of the show. I can’t wait to go back next year, the company bought a huge lot of land in a neighboring town and will move the operation next year. They will have much more space.
I am no stranger to the pizza establishment that is Mystic Pizza in Mystic Connecticut. I usually go there about once a year (or so), as I love the area. Plus it is pretty close to a couple of casinos. A couple of weeks ago, my mother-in-law brought up Mystic Pizza in a conversation. I told her about the actual pizza place in Mystic and how good the food is. Later that week, someone at work randomly brought up Mystic Pizza and the neighboring aquarium, unprompted by me.
I went to trivia night after a friends birthday dinner. Of course one of the final round questions worth 10 whole points was about the movie, Mystic Pizza. Needless to say we got that question right! Also, one of my friends on IG went there over the weekend and took loads of pictures. I think the universe is telling me I’m long overdue for a trip there. Don’t worry, universe I have listened! I have since planned a trip in May.
Happy #tbt to the last time I visited the ice castles in NH
My eye is twitching, so I’m ready for this short week to be over. Bring on the weekend! I am heading up to NH this weekend with my friend Erin. We’re going to visit the ice castles, before they close next week for the season. I went once a few years ago. The line SUCKED. We were stuck next to an annoying girl who wouldn’t stop complaining about how cold it was. It got the point where a mother and child in line offered up the child’s gloves and scarf in an attempt to shut her up. Unfortunately, she declined. So we all had to hang out in line for an hour and a half listening to Debbie Downer. FUN!
Thankfully, they have improved the ice castles since (so I’ve heard). They now offer timed tickets and only offer limited ticket sales on site. They also moved the castles off site of the ski resort. This will make it much easier because we were standing in line waiting to buy tickets, which is where the cluster fuck was. PLUS, we’ll be VIP. My friends cousin works there, and will be letting us in! I’m very excited to get away for the weekend. We’re probably going to be doing some exploring and finish the weekend off with pancakes at Sugar Shack. I think we’ll also be doing some outlet shopping as well. Can’t wait!
I was very much looking forward to the long weekend! On Saturday night, Jamie and I decided to check out the “igloos” on top of the Envoy hotel in the seaport area of Boston. It was a lovely lady date! We had to wait in line for an hour to gain access. It actually went by pretty fast, oddly. Once we got there, the space only has 6 igloos, 4 of which were reserved for private parties. Thankfully, we managed to snag one with some other people. The ones that are open, are a free-for-all. You share them with random people. I didn’t mind, we made new friends. Each igloo is heated and has colored lights on the inside. You should definitely dress warm if you opt to go.
After we enjoyed our drinks, we were starving. They don’t serve food on the roof. So we made our way down to the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent, so I would recommend the Outlook Kitchen & Bar. After dinner, we opted to check out the Scorpion Bar for dessert. I guess it’s new, I’ve only seen this restaurant inside the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. We ordered the churros, not realizing they would give you A TON! We were thinking we’d get one giant churro of each flavor. WRONG! We got 5 pieces of each kind, they were quite sizable. We split them up and took home what we didn’t finish.
We finished the night at Yotel. Apparently they offer the tallest rooftop bar in Boston. They have an Olympics theme set up, which we got behind! Jamie and I took pics on the podium, I’m sure we looked like huge weirdos.
On Sunday night, I was back in the Seaport area again. This time I was with Andy and his brother to check out the live podcast of Small Town Murder. It was a good podcast! I need to catch up on their station though, I’m very behind. All in all, a fun weekend!

The other night I went out to a nice group dinner for a friends birthday. Incidentally it was also the night I usually go to trivia. We had a nice dinner and great (read: inappropriate) dinner conversation with people we just met. haha! That’s how you know you’re having a good time, just dive right in! Since trivia starts kind of late at the bar we go, I was able to meet up for trivia after dinner. I only missed half the game.
My husband knows me well, and saved the popcorn for me for when I showed up. I was full from delicious Mexican food, but I still ate anyway. It was good that I turned up when I did, I helped our team get 2nd place!
Hello Wednesday! I am currently blogging while Andy is driving us to Brookline for dinner. I am also going to pick up my dinosaur and shark from last week’s paint night! Anyway, over the weekend I got ambitious and made a potato bacon torte for my friend Ginny’s potato party.
At first I was going to be lazy and just bring some chips and vodka. But my coworker offered up her tasty recipe. So I trudged to the grocery store on Friday night, and began making the torte on Saturday afternoon. I’m glad it turned out good, I was worried. THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD! I didn’t have a chance to try everything. I made the huge mistake of eating dinner beforehand, I wasn’t mentally prepared for the sheer quantity of food. After the party we went to Harry’s where I drank White Russians and relaxed with friends.

Sharing one of my favorite wedding memories. It doesn’t even involve me or my husband. Instead, it involves the best man and good ol’ TB12! We didn’t realize when we booked our wedding venue, some of the Pats players stay at the hotel the night before the game. Some of the players just turn up for meetings. The best man had to run up to his room during dinner, and on his way back to the reception had a chance encounter with TOM. Holy cow! We also met some of the coaching staff and another staff member asked the DJ to turn down the music. He politely declined. No harm no foul, because they won the game the next day anyway.
