NOVEMBER JULEP MAVEN BOX!

FotorCreated

I just got my Maven Box!  If you want to join Julep Maven, please sign up using my referral link! How Maven works, is you sign up for a welcome box. You get coupons and usually 50% off your first box. Each month you have a window to select which box you’d like to receive, or opt out. The products use oxygen technology, are 5-free (no harmful toxins),  and cruelty-free! They have a really amazing selection of quality colors to pick from each month. I like how they also offer cosmetics and skin care products and that you can pause your subscription. It’s also great you can preview your box and swap things out.  You can also access their secret store a couple days a month to get great deals on their products.

Sorry, I haven’t been great about doing my beauty box posts lately. Anyway, This month I got the Be Strong Nail Therapy base coat, Nail Decals – Holographic Chevron, and Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat. I also got some candy and a coupon as an added treat. I didn’t do any add-on’s this month, but I did customize my box. I haven’t used any of these products yet, but I’ll update this post with my feedback when I do!

I opted for some add-ons this month, so I got more than usual. I got Ilsa (which I already own, but got it as a free gift), Ginger (looks like a really cool holographic glitter!), Brittany, and Brighter is Better base coat. I scored some Go Big Volumizing Mascara, and Your Cuticles Look Thirsty cream. In addition, they send extra goodies like jewel decals, star decals, and stripe ones as well! They also gave me some candy, so AWESOME!

I just got my Julep Maven Box last night! If you want to join Maven, please sign up using my referral link! How Maven works, you sign up for a welcome box. You get coupons and usually 50% off your first box. Each month you have a window to select which box you’d like to receive, or opt out. This month I got some salt water taffy, a very nice treat! I also got some gold anchor nail decals to try out. I love decals, makes it look like I know what I’m doing as far as nail art is concerned. Just don’t look too closely. =P Anyway, I also got three nail colors as well. I got Ilsa (dark blue), Brigitte (white), and January (red). Not sure when I’ll end up using these, it could be a while. I’ve got a Jamberry nail wrap queue the size of Texas. But I’ll try to report back with pictures of my mani when I do!

I purchased this subscription on  my own, all opinions are my own.

I’m a Julep Maven member. If you want to join Maven, please sign up using my referral link! How Maven works, is you sign up for a welcome box. You get coupons and usually 50% off your first box. This month I got nail color in the Danielle shade, Oxygen bonding base coat, Luxe Lip Treatment, Don’t Leave Your Brows at Home pencil, and some candy! I haven’t tried the nail polish yet, but it’s a really pretty blue! I’m currently using the base coat with my Jamberry wraps and love the results! The lip gloss is nice and silky but definitely only offers sheer color coverage. So don’t use it if you want more intense color. My favorite product is the brow pencil! It’s has great coverage and precision brush, I will definitely be adding it to my makeup routine!

JULEP MAVEN FEBRUARY BOX!

I decided to rejoin Julep Maven and put my Ipsy subscription on hold. If you want to try out Julep Maven, please use my referral link! Each month you have a selection window where you can opt out, or pick which Julep items you want for your box. I think it’s great they offer a customization options, not many subscription services will do that. Your first box is free too, which is great! I love the Julep products already, so I knew what I was getting into.

My welcome  box came with two lip crayons and two nail colors for $24.99 (with shipping). I think the boxes used to be $19.99, so a bit of a bummer that the prices have gone up. I haven’t tried the nail colors yet, but I will soon. The lip crayons are quite nice though. They have a center that is moisturizing, and has a minty flavor to it. So your lips stay nice and moist, the coverage is pretty good too. These are very handy for the winter months. I didn’t capture the names of the lip crayons or nail colors. But I got one caramel color and red color of lip crayons. I also got a rose gold, and deep red nail color. I can’t wait to try the rose gold!!

UPDATES AND APRIL JULEP MAVEN BOX

I just got back from spending a week in Orlando. I was so happy to get away from the cold New England weather that I’m kinda sad to be back. But I guess I can’t get too sad, because some friends and I are going to Vegas in May. I’ll have to work on a FL recap post, I squeezed a lot into the time I was there. I’m sorting thru 522 pictures right now, YIKES! Don’t worry, I’ll create some photo collages of a few favs. Otherwise, my blog will take 45 days to load.

While I was out, my Julep Maven “Bombshell Box” for April arrived.

I added on colors Felicia and Phoebe. But the Bombshell Box came with some nice candies, Glow Pore Minimizing Blush, Tatum, and Kayla colors. I can’t wait to try these colors for Easter!

PARTY’S OVER

20140315_143906

Know what’s awesome? GLITTER! Know what is not awesome? Trying to take glitter nail polish off! So I jumped at the oppurtunity to get Julep’s Party’s Over glitter nail polish removal kit. It went on sale and I decided to give it a try. I made sure to slather a bunch of glitter on my nails last week and took it off yesterday with the kit.

Fotor0319195648

The kit comes with a set of 10 rubber caps and 5 packs of nail polish remover strips (each pack has 10 strips). It’s pretty easy to use, but can be tricky to get on when your other hand already has the rubber caps on. I should have left them on longer than 3 minutes, but most of glitter came off pretty easy! I like that the caps are reusable. I may try using cut up paper towels soaked in acetone if I get lazy and don’t want to get more packs of nail polish remover strips. I used it near a trash barrel as well since the strips can drip when applying to nails.

To Use:

  1. Open packette & place one aloe vera-infused pad on nail
  2. Cover with nail cap. (Use large caps for thumbs.)
  3. Once nails are covered, sit back & relax for 3-5 minutes
  4. Squeeze & pull to remove cap & pad. Use pad to wipe off any leftover glitter

Oh yeah, fun news! I got a runner-up Rimmel prize from Influenster! I can’t wait to try Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara.
